The core roles are Appointment Setter (calling or messaging leads to book meetings on someone else's calendar), Cold Caller (working an outbound list from scratch, opening conversations and handling early objections), SDR or Sales Development Rep (multi-channel outbound across phone, email, and LinkedIn to qualify prospects against an ideal customer profile), Lead Conversion Specialist (following up on inbound enquiries fast so they do not go cold), Sales Closer (running the full demo-to-signature conversation), and Sales Representative (owning a mix of prospecting and closing).
Appointment Setter and Cold Caller are the two roles that hire genuine beginners. What employers screen for is clear spoken English, resilience when calls go badly, and whether you follow the script without sounding like you are reading it. SDR roles usually want some outbound experience or evidence you can research a prospect properly. Sales Closer and senior Sales Representative roles are earned: employers want a track record with real numbers attached, because they are trusting you with revenue conversations. Setting appointments for a year is a well-worn path into closing.
Base pay runs $5 to $24 per hour. Appointment Setters and Cold Callers start at $5–$8 and reach $11–$16 as seniors; SDRs and Lead Conversion Specialists reach $13–$20; and senior Sales Representatives reach $15–$22, with Sales Closers at $16–$24. Many of these jobs add commission or a per-appointment bonus on top; always confirm how it is calculated and when it is paid before you accept. Your employer pays you directly in USD via Wise, PayPal, or direct deposit, and FindTalent takes no cut of either your base or your commission.
Learn one CRM well (HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive) because disciplined logging is what employers actually check. For prospecting, get comfortable with Apollo.io, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, including Boolean-style search to build a clean list. On the calling side, JustCall, Aircall, and Dialpad are the common dialers, and Calendly handles booking. A stable connection, a noise-canceling headset, and the habit of writing a tight call summary in the CRM after every conversation will do more for your reputation than any extra tool.
